Botox and Dysport

As we age, we begin experiencing changes in our appearance, specifically in the skin and facial muscles. Wrinkles are a natural part of aging, however Botox® and Dysport® offer one of the most effective ways to look younger and bring balance to your facial features. These treatments target fine lines and wrinkles while leaving your natural expressions intact, without giving you a “frozen” look. Neuromodulator injections are a safe, effective, and non-surgical answer to achieving a well-rested and invigorated appearance.

These offer no downtime, natural results and treatment time takes as little as 10 minutes. Noticeable results can be expected in as little as 3-5 days and can last for approximately 3-4 months.

Commonly treated areas include:
● Forehead lines (Frontalis)
● Frown lines between eyebrows (Glabella)
● Bunny Lines (scrunch lines to nose)
● Crow’s feet (lines around eyes)
● Smokers Lines (fine lines around lips)
● Lip Flip
● Downward turn of the mouth(Depressor Anguli Oris)
● dimple chin (Mentalis)
● Necklines
● Jaw slimming (Masseter)
● Eyebrow lift

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does it hurt?
Botox and Dysport  and similar wrinkle-reducing products are injected into the area using a very fine needle and take only a few seconds per injection. As a result, any pain or discomfort tends to be mild and temporary. People have compared the sensation to a tiny pinch. For added ease, you can request ice or a topical numbing gel.

What are the side effects of Botox and Dysport?
Botox and comparable injectables may cause side effects, but most are mild and temporary. The most common potential side effects include pain, swelling, and redness near the injection sites. Less often, Botox causes eyelid drooping, vision problems, headache, tiredness, and allergic reactions.

Facial

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face.
As we age, our face naturally loses subcutaneous fat which results in under eye and cheek hollows, nasolabial folds, thinner lips, etc.

Dermal fillers can:
●Plump thin lips
●Enhance shallow contours
●Soften facial creases and wrinkles
●Improve the appearance of recessed scars
●Reconstruct contour deformities in the face
●Decrease or remove the shadow of the lower lids

Dermal Fillers used at RMA are Hylauronic Acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are made up of a soft injectable gel. Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule that’s found naturally in your body. Once injected into treatment areas, it binds with water then expands, resulting in more volume and less sagging or wrinkling. The gel is tissue-friendly and long-lasting, though not permanent. Dermal filler treatments are widely used in medical aesthetics to add volume, plump up and reduce the appearance of lines and folds.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the difference between Botox and Dermal Fillers?
Botox relaxes the muscle which creates a smoothing effect to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.  Dermal fillers on the other hand restore and or augments volume. Both can be done upon the same service depending on desired outcome.

Do dermal filler injections hurt?
Most fillers contain the numbing agent - lidocaine - for comfort. We provide you topical numbing cream as well, and ice after the treatment. Though rare, you may experience some amount of pain, tenderness, itching, bruising, swelling, or redness after your treatment. These effects range from mild to moderate and are temporary.

What should I do after my dermal filler treatment?
Most people can go straight back to their usual daily activities after a filler treatment. You’ll want to avoid strenuous exercise, alcoholic drinks, and extensive sun or heat exposure for 48 hours at least, to let the product settle successfully.

Are there any risks involved with dermal fillers?
All of our products are FDA Approved and safe for the body. Product-related reactions are rare. There are some injection-related reactions that include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising, or tenderness. After lip enhancements, there is usually some slight swelling that can occur as well.

Beauty Treatment

Platelet-Enriched Plasma Treatments

PRP is a safe, cost-effective, effective treatment for facial rejuvenation which includes wrinkles, scars, sun damage, age spots, and dark circles under the eyes.  Reversing the sign of aging and getting regenerative effects is possible using platelets and growth factors from your own blood. Post treatment effects show tighter and more radiant skin.

During a PRP treatment the platelets and growth factors in your blood are separated by using a centrifuge machine which separates the red blood cells from the platelets.  The platelet portion of the blood is extracted and applied into your skin using a micro needling device.  This releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces.

According to Dr. Kristina Goldenberg, of Goldenberg Dermatology in NYC, “Micro needling stimulates collagen production and breaks up acne scarring.  It also helps the epidermis to refresh and recycle itself, promoting shedding and stimulation of new, healthier keratinocytes to grow.”

PRP for Hair Regrowth & Restoration:

The growth factors found in PRP are vital when it comes to hair loss treatment for men and women. PRP is directly injected or applied after microneedling to the scalp and can aid in the strengthening and nourishment of active hair follicles to prompt production of new and healthy hair.  It is typically used in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia, a common condition that causes hair follicles to shrink. In males, this is called male pattern baldness but it is also common in women. Clients starting a hair loss treatment plan likely need a series of treatments for noticeable results.

PRP works to:
●Improve dull skin tone
●Improve skin texture
●Increase collagen production
●Reduce wrinkles

●Enhance skin elasticity, tone, and thickness
●Can be used for face, neck and for hair rejuvenation

Frequently Asked Questions:

How long does it take for the results?
Unlike Botox and fillers that see results within hours and weeks; PRP may take longer to see results due to the healing process.  With each treatment and healing cycle your skins will continue to improve.  You should begin to see visible improvements following your first treatment within 2-4 weeks but will see more significant results from consecutive treatments (3-5 treatments recommended).

What is a Vampire Facial?
Dr. Barbara Sturm, a German aesthetics doctor, is known as the inventor of the “Vampire Facial” that celebrities like Kim Kardashian are so fond of.  The term was coined and trademarked by Dr. Charles Runels, a plastic surgeon. The idea of using your own blood is to stimulate a response that tricks skin into thinking that it has been damaged and helps tissue regeneration leading to increased collagen production in facial skin.

How safe is PRP?
PRP is a safe natural cosmetic treatment simply because it’s derived from your own blood. This means that the chances of an allergic reaction or rejection are very minimal.
